Exhibition Statement

This piece explores the line intersecting communication and art: a point where image is bound to language is within typography. Utilizing Helvetica and my own photographs of NYC architecture, I’ve created letters exposing only parts of the letter structure and fragments of the image. Each fractured, somewhat absent letter relies on implied line for viewers to understand the whole. The piece is structured as a keyboard, referencing our modern alphabet.

This series was displayed in Gallery 406.
